The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted enormous influences upon almost all aspects of life, particularly education and training. In that context, online learning has been adopted in most schools and universities. This article presents the results of a comparative study factors affecting teacher and learner satisfaction with online teaching and learning at a university in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic. Adopting both quantitative and qualitative methods, the study shows that teacher and learner satisfaction is affected by online interaction rather than learners’ Internet literacy and self-study. However, teachers’ Internet literacy does affect their satisfaction with online teaching. Both teachers and learners believe that despite its contribution to maintaining learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning should be integrated with traditional learning in order to yield optimal results.
