Fairy tales play a significant role in literature, conveying the wisdom and moral values of a nation. The study of Russian fairy tales helps scholars of Russian linguistics expand their understanding of Russian culture. This study focuses on analyzing the characteristics of translating Russian fairy tales into Vietnamese and highlights the most common translation techniques. The findings reveal that the most frequently employed methods for translating non-equivalent terms in Russian fairy tales into Vietnamese include transcription, transliteration, and generalization. Another notable characteristic of translation is the use of fixed expressions and idioms in the target text to preserve the historical and artistic features of the original one.
