Abstract

In all time, human resource – a direct product of education, is always a determinant of the development and prosperity of a nation. Nowadays, in the context of knowledge-based economy, sustainable development and successful international integration can only be ensured by a country’s interests in education invesment and advanced, efficient education system meeting the social demand for high-quality human resources. Japanese education, especially at tertiary level, is one of the world leading education systems. This article presents an overview of the basic characteristics of Japanese tertiary education, accordingly, provides some thoughts on Vietnamese higher education system.
