Abstract

This study examines the challenges faced by international students when analyzing a literary work in literature classes. It highlights that deep comprehension of a literary text is a fundamental principle in Russian literature courses for non-native students. It also outlines the primary objectives, difficulties, and teaching methods employed in these classes. Modern living conditions, young people's psychology, and new technologies have led to shifts in approaches to literary text analysis. The study presents examples of practical methods used in literature classes, emphasizing the significance of exercises conducted pre, while and postreading to facilitate a thorough understanding of the text. The author presents conclusions on the traditional and immutable nature of the approaches to studying and interpreting literary works.
