EXTRA-CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES AS A METHOD OF DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS FOR STUDENTS OF THE RUSSIAN DEPARTMENT, HANOI UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Extracurricular activities are considered an effective method for developing Russian speaking skills among students of the Russian Department, Hanoi University. Beyond regular classroom instruction, these activities help students enhance their communication skills, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities. This study analyzes several prominent forms of extracurricular activities, including Russian speaking clubs, language competitions, online exchanges with Russian speaking students from universities in Vietnam and abroad, group games, field , etc.. These activities not only provide opportunities for students to practice Russian and deepen their understanding of Russian culture but also foster soft skills development, facilitate interactions with native speakers and Russian language learners from other Vietnamese universities.
