CONCEPTUAL METAPHOR OF HUMAN IN THE NOM POETIC STORY ‘PHAM TAI – NGOC HOA’

Abstract

This study presents the conceptual metaphor of human and explains the body experience in the Nom poetic story ‘Pham Tai – Ngoc Hoa’. Descriptive statistics, comparison, introspective method and MIP method were adopted to achieve the research purposes. The results reveal some theoretical and practical significance. Theoretically, this study consolidates the theory of cognitive linguistics, and creates a premise for analyzing conceptual metaphors in anonymous Nom poetic stories. Practically, this study can be a reference material for the teaching of literature, especially the knowledge about metaphors and anonymous Nom poetic stories.
