Abstract

Recently, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan has boosted the demand for Japanese speaking human resources. Thus, Japanese culture and language teaching, learning and researching have attracted significant attention, including teaching Japanese literature.

This paper discusses current Japanese literature teaching in Vietnam with a focus on curricula, course book, textbook, and teaching contents at high schools and universities teaching Japanese, thence produces some recommendations and solutions. It is hoped to introduce a deeper approach to Japanese literature teaching for Japanese majors in Hanoi University and some results and students’ assessment of the subject.
