Abstract

The paper examines the socio-cultural approach to language as a fundamental dimension of the communicative competence of foreign students learning Russian as a foreign language. Having analyzed both a number of theoretical and practical works of many methodists as well as personal experience, the authors (among whom have worked in Vietnam) suggest some ways of applying modern technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language to optimize the educational process and contrust learners’ secondary language identity.
