Abstract

The article introduces a new approach to the classification of audio-visual materials in teaching the Russian language basing on the length of the video, the complexity of the information, genre and other factors. The article claims that current teaching of the Russian language at technical universities makes more use of audio-visual corpus than traditional methods. The purpose of the article is to propose teaching methods to make technical majors’ study of the language more interesting and effective, as well as to motivate students in learning Russian through the use of audio-visual corpus popular on the Internet.
