Reduplicated words in Vietnamese and Thai are the class of words with special formation in which original elements are combined together based on phonetic relationships. This is a large-scale word class which is commonly used in daily life in both languages. This article focuses on examining and studying the formation of double reduplicated words in Vietnamese and Thai as well as comparing and contrasting their semantic meanings. It, thereby, points out the similarities and differences in terms of formation and semantic meaning between Vietnamese and Thai reduplicated words.
