The article studies the "Gospel text" in the novel "Crime and punishment" and its Vietnamese translations. The "Gospel text" mentioned consists of quotes from the New Testament first widely used in Dostoevsky's works in particular and in the Russian literature of the 19th century in general. The research subjects include the monologue of "drunk" Marmeladov in the pub (part 1, chapter 2) and the scene of the gospel recitation of Lazarus' resurrection (part 4, chapter 4). On the basis of cited examples, we compare three translations by three different translators with the original text, and provide an analysis and evaluation of the translation of the "Gospel text" in the novel "Crime and punishment" into Vietnamese. Thence, the article draws conclusions about the contributions of translators as well as the difficulties they encounter in translating the "Gospel text" in the novel "Crime and punishment" into Vietnamese.
